I fail to see how, if a CRB (as was)/DBS was 'leaked' this would cause a problem for voluntary agencies. |

I am a guider with Rainbows (5-7) and Brownies (7-10) and so like every adult working with young people I have had more than one CRB check done over the years. The parents drop them off every week and pick them up 90 minutes later. Most of my Brownies parents see us as little more than a babysitting service and trust us to take the girls anywhere. |

What a relief! No mention here yet of any paedophile Catholic priests involvement. |

Around a third of British men have a criminal record including "spent" convictions. Very few of these are for sexual offences. Unfortunately CRB checks carried out for volunteer work have a tendency to leak causing all kinds of trouble. As a direct result volunteer organisations are finding it hard to recruit. |

Well done those standing up to be counted to stop the abuse they had to put up with carrying on. |

The best thing to do is warn children that not all adults can be trusted. |

It's difficult to keep a check on kids. My youngest, 40 now, was into football, cubs & other sports. Never gave it another thought, used to drop him off & pick him up. You always put your trust in these people. No police checks in those days. I have tremendous respect for the ones that are speaking out now & hope others will have the courage to do so. Same ole, same ole, the children are threatened about things that will happen, I know from a family incident. That still goes on today so they keep quiet. Think this will be big what is going on now. |

All a CRB does, is check whether a person has been convicted of abuse/wrongful behaviour. If they've never been caught - they will pass. |

having watched another interview with footballers who were abused by their coach - he's now banged up for the third time - I would urge any parent who have children enrolled in groups - any groups, scouts, army cadets, any sporting clubs, to keep a close eye on what's going on - these monsters lurk in such places and take advantage of innocent children - I speak from bitter experience |
