Well I still own the Martin D45 guitar I had back in 1969, (No I wasn't rich it was inherited ). I would be mortified if it burned to death nearly as bad as losing a pet. When not in use it is kept in a fire resistant case. |

Me, I just want to hear the same scratch as Leonard Cohen sings Suzanne that I heard when I was 16 and he first sang it. <3 |

I bought a betamax which had much better video quality than VCR. I was more interested in shooting video at the time than recording tv shows. I thought then and now that VCR was rubbish and still do. Same for K7 tapes. The media industry never used VCR it was betamax all the way. |

My tall dude (built like John Cleese, a stork only skinnier) is out at his post-stroke group so I will relay the news when he gets home. |

I too was saddened to hear that Andrew Sachs has passed away. |

He was brilliant as Manuel but I'll always remember him for this, back in the 1980's his son John Sachs was a DJ on our local radio Swansea Sound, one April Fool's day John arranged for his dad Andrew to phone the station pretending to be an Australian who had left town in a hurry after burying some treasure in a local park. At the time dozens of people descended on the park with shovels!! |

Such a shame, watched clips of him this morning & it still makes me laugh. We don't make good comedies like it anymore. Pity he had dementia but hope he is at peace now. :-( |
