We were 'told' a few years back that heating Olive Oil 'bad for us' - yet every other cookery programme that I accidently don't turn over fast enough invariably has a dish where they fry an item of food in hot Olive Oil!

Weren't 'Trans fats' once the be-all and end all of healthy eating - apparently good for the heart - now they're bad for cholesterol.
The much shunned lard and butter are now 'good' for us.

What is really scary is the Government /doctors/dieticians recommend the latest 'fad' for 'healthy eating' as 'research shows' how good these things are for us - then a few years down the line, we find firms have been funding research for their own benefit - and getting away with it! :-|

this has been around for some time....LOL

The following sage advice was forwarded to me earlier this week:

“The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or the Americans. On the other hand, the French eat a lot of fat and also suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or the Americans.

The Japanese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or the Americans. The Italians drink excessive amounts of red wine and also suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or the Americans.

Conclusion: Eat and drink what you like. It’s speaking English that kills you.”

"However, Cancer Research UK said the link was not proven in humans."

If we slavishly followed all the foodie advice, we'd still die 'young'.....from starvation!
