I'm pretty sure it's happened in the past wasn't the call for a second EU vote a victim of this ?

I'm not sure robot voting can happen on this one - you have to go into your e-mail and confirm you have voted.

I think the trouble is robot voting is almost certainly being done again.

The petition isn't to stop him coming - or we'd be as bad as he is - it's to allow him to come - but not for a state visit.
Imagine how he'd twist that :-0

Also, despite Johnson talking to his American counterpart, some UK citizens are still unable to travel back to/away from America.

Even if nothing is done about the petition, those who sign it are at least letting Government know how they feel.

Our Government says if 100,000 people signed a petition, they would debate it in Parliament - but not this time, nor for a couple of previous ones - so the voice of the people will not be heard if it's inconvenient. The petition against Trump has now reached over 1,500,000.

I really don't care who sees what petitions I sign. I'm allowed to have my opinion. When they start rounding up people for legal things they look up, or sign, on the internet, we'll know to be very worried.

I think it is worth it in that the UK needs as much trade as they can get from the US.

The petition surely is referring only to the State Visit that he was invited to last Thursday by your PM.

What I've seen is that he should be allowed into the UK as President of the UK or a private citizen to conduct government and / or private business.

The petition wants the invitation to the State Visit to be withdrawn because of the embarrassment it will cause the Queen.

He has no idea of protocol, diplomacy, or legal matters ............... witness the events this weekend around the banning of people entering the US, which has been declared unconstitutional even by the new Vice-President of the US, and where all advice from his security people, Homeland Security etc was ignored, and no legal advice was sought

.............. and he will undoubtedly use photographs of him with the Queen to promote his businesses, and possibly / probably to support his Executive Orders.

Not allowed to touch the Queen?? WTH ............ that wouldn't bother him, he always touches women ............. didn't you see him grasping onto May's hand???

He has also said that he will refuse to meet Prince Charles during the State Visit because he "does not want to be lectured about climate change."

In case you haven't heard ........... Trump doesn't believe that climate change has occurred, is occurring, or is caused by human activities.


The demonstrations that will undoubtedly occur during any public events of a full State Visit would undoubtedly embarrass the Queen and Prince Philip ............. is it worth it????

I think he should come here if he wishes
But I also think we should keep out noses out of USA politics
and spend our time sorting our own messes out :-D :-D

You know, I don't know why other countries are protesting, what good will it do? If his own country can't get though to him what can other countries do.

"I'LL MAKE AMERICIA GREAT AGAIN" hmmmmmmmmm I don't think so. As this is not Twitter I have no worries about him reading that the country to the north of him knew for a few years now that he is a big bully.

All we can do is batten down the hatches and hold our children real tight cause it as going to be a rough 4 years. :-S

Why should we protest? Surely now that we have disowned Europe the US is the only serious olive branch left to us?

Like him or loathe him he's the President of the US, and as much as many; and who knows maybe in the end all ; of his views will be distasteful to all but the insane he is therefore allowed a full state visit.
At the end of the day he isn't the worst person in the world, and worse have been welcomed albeit through gritted teeth.
He is at least doing exactly what he said he would do which is rare over a whole term for any elected person let alone just in one week !!!

Some of these sanctions were in place during Obamas term ,but was kept internal and quite about. :-).

How ironic that the dissenting voice of the people are all screaming in unison against Trump's proposed visit but have been silent over so many previous invitations.

People do seem to like only jumping on popular bandwagons!

It's a shame the same energy wasn't expended over the previous years.

However, I am pragmatic and will support anything which gets the UK a favourable deal, at least HE isn't a master of genocide which certainly hasn't stopped state visits previously has it?

A good welcome would be empty streets which would dent his ego and make more of an impact than screaming flag waving. :-D

I think he's a hideous creep, but he is also an elected head of state. Let him come and let us have as many protests as we can muster.

Does it have to be a full 'state' visit?
