Lawyers always win......but there'd be no case if everyone stopped buying books off all parties involved.

Guinevere

Guinevere Report 6 Feb 2017 10:16

But why would anyone want to read the book of a disgraced detective convicted of perjury and falsifying police documents?

http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/102810/McCann-detective-guilty-of-perjury

It's also worth noting that his defence for publishing his allegations was not that they were true, but that the law allowed freedom of speech.

Caroline

Caroline Report 6 Feb 2017 10:25

Unfortunately, facts for some don't matter........

supercrutch

supercrutch Report 6 Feb 2017 12:34

^^^^^^ that is unfortunately very true.

For those of you who still wish to vilify me, perhaps if you had spent the weekend reporting an unauthorised photo of Sean McCann being posted on the www to New Scotland Yard in order to get it removed (again) I may listen to you.

Also if you had correspondence from the Home Office (as I have) asking for an explanation as to why Kerry Needham had not been afforded a small percentage of what the McCanns had received I'd listen.

Armchair critics are great aren't they?

Guinevere

Guinevere Report 6 Feb 2017 12:43

No one is vilifying you that I can see. How odd that you should think so.

I don't think you are vilifying me because we don't agree, that would be silly.

JoyBoroAngel

JoyBoroAngel Report 6 Feb 2017 13:41

I think its good we all don't think the same
How boring the world would be if we did :-D

Caroline

Caroline Report 6 Feb 2017 13:41

Sorry Supercrutch please verify just who is vilifying you......disagreeing yes but vilifying as to " speak or write about in an abusively disparaging manner " not at all.

Personally I spent the weekend enjoying my family time not searching the web 24/7 or writing to the authorities but each to their own.....that's not belittling anyone just noting we're all different.

Today justice was served...Thank you Genes for reinstating my 2 RR'd comments which as now proven were RR'd for no good reason.

Please people disagree by all means but don't abuse the RR system it's there for real abuse not wasting time and stopping the flow !

JoyBoroAngel

JoyBoroAngel Report 6 Feb 2017 14:59

Told you so ;-)

Caroline

Caroline Report 6 Feb 2017 15:06

Never disagreed JoyBoroAngel said all along it's was childish and pointless.....of course the RR person won't admit it and say sorry because it's not in their vocabulary :-D

Caroline

Caroline Report 6 Feb 2017 18:05

Oh come on, now Guinevere perfectly acceptable comment has been RR'd.

Stop RRing and actually debate !!!

Guinevere

Guinevere Report 6 Feb 2017 18:26

Oh dear. Too funny!

A newspaper quote gets RR'd. I do hope GR issue a few bans about this.

"The disgraced former Portuguese police chief who previously led the inquiry into Madeleine McCann's disappearance has been convicted of perjury in a separate case."

http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/102810/McCann-detective-guilty-of-perjury

RR it again, sweetie, see what GR think this time.

:-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Or that.

Caroline

Caroline Report 6 Feb 2017 18:47

I'm most surprised your comment about the Royal family earlier in the thread wasn't RR'd :-D :-D

Maybe it's the papers you're quoting they have taken a dislike to..... :-D

Guinevere

Guinevere Report 6 Feb 2017 18:54

I think even the thickest person would have realised it was a reference to the lunatic ravings of David Icke, Caroline. We were talking conspiracy theories, after all.

Or maybe Icke is right. :-0

Caroline

Caroline Report 6 Feb 2017 18:59

Never assume even the thickest get it.......... :-D

Pretty worrying if Icke is right though....... :-S

supercrutch

supercrutch Report 6 Feb 2017 20:28

OK, I'll rephrase the 'vilified' to 'mocked'........

and yes I did spend some hours trying to get a particularly vile anti McCann site shut down!

That type of publicity is not needed and simply reinforces some people's opinion that we are ALL nasty instead of individuals who just do not believe the McCann story and hope for the truth.

Some may think I am wasting my time, I don't.

JoyBoroAngel

JoyBoroAngel Report 6 Feb 2017 21:19

I don't think your wasting your time Sue
If your passionate about something

Go with what you believe is right :-D

Caroline

Caroline Report 6 Feb 2017 22:17

I've never mocked you for your comments but questioned them. No discussion is a waste of time if you're prepared to listen to the other side.

Guinevere Report 7 Feb 2017 13:59

Well done to GR for restoring my reported post.
