Was it the red coats at Butlins or was that somewhere else ?

My Nan had one of my cousins for the day once, took him shopping left him outside in his pram, did her shopping walked home talking to a friend, took her coat off....remembered my cousin....ran faster than she'd ever ran in her life...found him sound a sleep in his pram.......

Just shows things happen to everyone at some point in life.

Well I can say my children were never left unattended

Nor would I have ever taken them to Butlins

Caroline

Caroline Report 1 Feb 2017 22:14

Bob....what about leaving the baby in the pram outside the shop normal practice for so long....no way you could always see the pram from inside the shop.

Yesterday, it became known that the Supreme Court in Lisbon ruled in favour of Gonçalo Amaral, in the long running lawsuit that was filed against him over his book "Maddie: A Verdade da Mentira".

This is the culmination of a costly, difficult process that caused a lot of pain and distress, not only to the persons directly involved, but also to many who refused to be silenced, both on the internet and 'offline'.

Nonetheless, it also brought out the very best in so many people who have shown their support, both morally and materially, over so many years. It has been tremendously encouraging and heartening, and it must unequivocally be stated that without you, it would simply not have been possible to walk this road towards Justice.

We await the publication of the Court's decision and will update you soon with relevant information.

In the meantime, there are simply no words that even remotely match the strength and the tenacity that you have dedicated to this process.

So a mere "Thank you" will have to do.

How many have left young children alone in the past? Cast your minds back to the 50s and 60s holiday camps, (us older ones) when it was not uncommon for babies to be left alone in a chalet with a towel on the door to alert camp staff that there was a child within. "Child crying in chalet six" was often heard during the entertainment. Doesn't make it right of course.

Agreed.

Please can we let this drop. Whatever happened to Madeleine her parents are having to live with this for the rest of their lives whether they are guilty of anything
or not. Just unwise to have left the children but many professional people do tend to employ home helpers, child minders ect. it is their way of life.

Not many days pass before there are cases in the press where men are downloading vile videos of babies and children being raped

Can you even begin to understand how her parents are feeling - bare in mind the foul things that are happening to children in todays society

Judge not Lest ye be Judged .

Caroline

Caroline Report 1 Feb 2017 15:26

Agreed, as I've said all along.....BUT......that alone doesn't make them guilty.

The police need to prove they or whom ever is guilty...not them prove their innocence.

From the very first day the story broke there was, and still is, for that matter, something about the entire episode, and especially the McCann's behaviour and rambling explanations that just does not ring true.

Watch the US program 'JudgeJudy' and you will see what I mean - she regularly makes the comment 'if it doesn't sound right then it (probably) isn't true.

Caroline

Caroline Report 1 Feb 2017 11:55

Again any police officer will tell you they don't want the parents searching.

JoyBoroAngel

JoyBoroAngel Report 1 Feb 2017 11:53

I am not hang drawing and quartering anybody
I just think they are shocking
Bringing the court action in the first place
when he was one of the people

Who actually searched for their Daughter :-(

Caroline

Caroline Report 1 Feb 2017 10:23

I never said he was a bad guy nor anyone was guilty, what I said was we don't know who did it. The parents acted differently than I think I would act and from the way you'd think you'd act, but you don't honestly know how you'd act until push came to shove and hopefully you never find out.
As for not answering questions.....at the end of the day they don't have to....strange attitude agreed...but they don't have to prove their innocence it's for the police to prove their guilt. Again if they're being hung drawn and quartered by some sections of the public how come their other children weren't even monitored closely let alone taken away...

JoyBoroAngel

JoyBoroAngel Report 1 Feb 2017 09:34

If my Child was missing
I would still be answering those 40 odd questions
The Policeman has said
Any of the remaining money
will be going to a children's charity

So not such a bad guy

Caroline

Caroline Report 1 Feb 2017 02:54

So you have found them guilty on the flimsy of evidence.....one little matter innocent until proven guilty......
The last thing the police want you doing is looking for the child yourself everyone knows that.......either you get in the way or if you're guilty you can tamper with evidence......it's not rocket science.

supercrutch

supercrutch Report 1 Feb 2017 02:11

The only thing that would be certain is telling the unvarnished truth if you are innocent of any wrongdoing and answering the questions put to you. Certainly not immediately hiring Michael Caplan QC *snorts* and Carter Ruck *snorts even more* to deflect every reasonable question which remains obfuscated or simply unanswered to this day.

JoyBoroAngel

JoyBoroAngel Report 1 Feb 2017 00:36

Never mind jogging or eating I would be searching for my child :-(

Caroline

Caroline Report 1 Feb 2017 00:18

Can we question how people handle stress.......some will sit in a dark room crying....some will run here there and everywhere.......would I go jogging no but then I don't jog anyway :)
If she'd drunk herself silly would that be acceptable .......what about eating until she's sick...the coping list goes on and on......

JoyBoroAngel

JoyBoroAngel Report 31 Jan 2017 23:18

As you will know having read the book
The photo of them Jogging the next day
are there to be seen for your self

Jogging would be the last thing on my mind :-(

Kates own words are mostly speculation in her book
Unlike the Policeman's that come from the official files and more factual

Caroline

Caroline Report 31 Jan 2017 23:07

Again JoyBoroAngel they're quoting the waiter........was he paid for his comments ?? I assume he was as I'm guessing he's paid a low wage why wouldn't he want to make money out of the story.
I have read Kates book and I stand by what I said at the beginning.

As for there's none so blind etc.........just because someone doesn't agree with you doesn't mean they're wrong. you seem so hell bent on hanging them on what evidence ??

Caroline

Caroline Report 31 Jan 2017 22:28

Really.......calling us ignorant.......why are you so for him and so against the parents. If the evidence was that reliable the UK police would have made sure it was followed up and you could be sure the other children would be in care now.
