Elizabeth, have you checked your battery usage by going into Settings and clicking on Battery under Devices? This might show if there is something running that you aren't aware of...Just a thought :-) |

Thanks Bob - I have emailed them as I'd like a quote anyway as Linda has warned about the expense! Rollo - I may try to get someone else to insert if for me, our local computer shop sent me to a local who specialises in phones and tablets but it was shut! Londonbelle - I did try purging as many apps as I could, useful exercise anyway. I hope I don,t have to replace, it suits my needs well |

My Nexus 7 started to use it's battery more quicker but I found that I hadn't closed down some tabs properly so they were still running in the background and therefore using the battery. |

You will need a few tools to open it up easily without damage under £5 on eBay. There are lots of step by step guides on the net and utube. changing the battery will take under 1 hr. |

I replaced the battery on my last tablet using a utube video, it was easy to do. I just used a cheap Chinese battery from EBay as the real replacement was very expensive. It was still working fine when I decided to change to an iPad |

Techie advice please. My tablet (Google Nexus 7) has begun to heat up a lot when WiFi is connected, and it needs recharging more often. Research definitely suggests a failing battery. Is it possible to replace the battery? or do I have to start window-shopping? |
