it's very confusing, as a lot of people think it means either "like" or "yes, that is correct"

GR meant it to show that the question had been fully answered, and no other help is needed.

It might only be on Find Ancestors .............. but there is a column on the All Threads - Find Ancestors Board for "answered", and the green tick shows there.

Shirley is correct ......


it is a most annoying quirk of GR that they put in that "tick" ability, but not a means of reversing the action

and they don't seem to want to remove it.

You can't undo the answered tick I,m afraid

You could add to the thread heading something like more info needed please

There should be an 'edit' button along the top of your thread/ response - in light blue.
Click on that. :-)
