can someone please tell me how to get a marriage certificate ,its many years since i last got one and cannot remember how to go about it THANKYOU

If this is England or Wales, find the registration details on e.g. https://www.freebmd.org.uk

Next, log into or create an account on http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/ . As it's probably the first time you've used the site since it was updated, you're likely to need to be sent a one-off code to prove you're a human being. It should arrive in your email box within minutes.

Once you've gone through the formalities, you can access the certificate ordering section. That hasn't really changed. Just use the reg index references - name, numbers, district etc - work your way through the form and pay your £9.25 by credit or debit card.

You can also order via the local Registry although the GRO references wouldn't be applicable. Some reg offices may charge more to cover their costs.

Make sure you only use the GRO site.
There are scam sites out there which will order you a certificate but charge you 25 quid or so for what you can do yourself for £9.25.
