We knew we shared a hobby! :-D
I've ended up with all the stuff she inherited from her mum (a bit of a hoarder) - like ration books, wartime letters, birthday/Christmas cards going back eons - even the receipt granddad got from one of the may 'insurance' companies he belonged to (pre NHS) to get his teeth removed!!
Things that show social history, that just can't be thrown out!!

It's still a bit unnerving to find her stuff online - but be unable to actually access it. (unless I pay out to join the website)

Genes have removed her tree, after I informed them of her death - and also my brother in laws tree, after he died. (my sister didn't know he had one on here)

At least it confirms that you shared a hobby.

I also have come across a tree on there where I know the tree owner has died. She was only in her late 60s. Although her children knew she was interested in her 'roots' this side of the Atlantic, they probably forgot or didn't know that about her online trees

I tried to export my tree, ended up downloading 'My Heritage'.
I decided to put my tree on there, put in 6 names - got an instant match!!

Looked at the 'manager' of this tree - it was my mum.

She died in 2013.
