I'm in Staffordshire which seems to have come off worse than usual. All the local rail services cancelled. At home all our fencing as gone and will need to be replaced. Around the town many trees down and roads blocked

Sadly a person was killed in Wolverhampton by something blown off a building. RIP.

We have had quite a nice day, but the local news showed traffic at a standstill on the M8 and other roads in Central Scotland.

There was also apparently a lot of wind damage in the Midlands. I hope everyone is safe, and the worst is now behind us.

Well ,it really got very windy and raining late morning.it broke a branch off a tree in my garden and I got worried as another branch started tapping on my conservatory roof.then I noticed a large pot was broken,my recycling all over the path, but the worst thing was that the spikes they put on the apex of my roof to deter the seagulls ,well, part of them had been blown down ...not been out to inspect yet,but a large section on the path...how dangerous could that be?

I had been on to the company in December ,as I noticed a small part had been misplaced...I'm not too bothered about the gulls on the apex,as long as they don't build nests and I'm happy with the netting on the dormers, but I asked the company to take them down as I worried about this happening.

My next door neighbour rang as she has some fencing down and I think I have some trellis and an arch looking a bit wonky....there is always something in maintaining a property isn't there?... :-S

Extremely windy here in Gloucester but sunny, dry and not cold. Did the Tesco shop. First time I have heard an announcement for people to return trolleys properly to the trolley bays. Wish they would have added to please actually push them in and lock them into another trolley if there, instead of rushing with the trolley shoving it on the end of the bay and leaving it for somebody else to tidy up. Had to push three in so I could get mine safely inside the bay.

Here (on the Clyde west of GlasgowLass) it snowed hard during the night, was sleeting when I got up, now it is dry, quite windy, thawing while I watch and improving rapidly. Further west, over Dunoon, the sun is shining.

I have to go out later too for an appointment
It's going to be tricky because people at the top of the street have already taken their cars off the driveways and parked on either side of the road outside their houses.

I live at the end of the street but, it's down a short steep hill that bends.

I need to build up speed to get up the hill but as soon as I reach the top, I'm faced with these cars and very little wiggle room to squeeze through without skidding.
(Automatic transmission so I need to use the brake to slow down)

Can also say goodbye to the bin collection today.
The bin lorry can't pass between the cars either and heaven help us if we need an emergency vehicle

She is starting to hit hard in South Lanarkshire.

Overnight snow was wet and slushy until an hour ago but, is falling in earnest now and the wind is picking up.

Stay safe and warm everyone. Xxx
