I love Afternoon Tea and I used to go to different places quite regularly until I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, so now I have to limit my visits.

A lot of places will alter the menu if you ask for more savoury food and less sweet - and we always ask for a box to bring home what we can't get through at the time.

We did it again yesterday. We had an afternoon tea in a cafe.

I had wanted to do it for ages when the idea first became popular again and we have tried several but I have come to the conclusion that I am not that struck on them.

There is too much cake and not enough sandwich for me. Yesterday I tried a cheese scone instead of the jam and cream job but it was still too kind of gummy for me.

Serves me right for pestering to go and have one.
