The majority homeless do not do it by personal choice. My daughter works with a group that help these individuals and their stories are quite an eye opener. Neither are they all drunkards and drug addicts as a lot of people get the impression they are. I knit for them and also collect spare clothing for those that have barely enough to wear.
It is a nice thought that a petition is being raised to try and help

Just signed. These packs can surely be used somewhere instead of being thrown away. If it was'nt for people standing up & charities, where would we be.

Mark had a thread on a few days ago about this and it was discussed quite a bit then maybe you missed it Newby.

So we just do nothing. Unless we have been in a situation like this ourselves then we cant really understand or judge. My local supermarket gives it's daily unsold food to a food bank.

I don't come here often but I really feel I need to respond.
Although I admire what you are trying to do I feel that in this day and age, as a 'supposedly caring' country there should not be a need for anyone to live without a roof over their head , unless it is by personal choice. The supermarkets throw away food, the government send aid abroad while people live on the streets in the UK..
Take a look at the way the Isle of Wight are dealing with the problem ...people living in tents throughout the winter...talk to the guy who is working to alleviate their problem.
Please do not take offence but TBH this is not the answer.

I am resubmitting this onto the board hoping people feel able to sign. Not to cause controversy with people's difference of opinions. Thanks
