We are certainly a nation that likes detective stories.

Softly softly! (I think it was called).

Was the American one I am thinking of called Ironsides?

I often watch Midsummer murders on ITV 4 (I think it is), The funny thing is I remember them but never seem to remember who 'done it'. I also like watching re-runs of The Bill and Lewis. Used to love Morse but have never got into Endeavour. It was John Thaw who made Morse so watchable. Also watched all the Bergerac series on re-runs on Yesterday some time back.

Prime suspect......And I am really enjoying the '1973' prequel.
Cracker.....Although he was a psychologist it was a crime drama.

Chris.

Barbra Report 12 Mar 2017 12:11

There are some I watched Hill Street Blues .Colombo .Hetty Wainthropp .Rockford files James Gardner he was handsome ! Believe Vera is coming back shortly that's a decent one .Cagney & Lacy enjoyed that ..Thanks R. & AM :-)

Andysmum

Andysmum Report 12 Mar 2017 12:00

We used to watch lots of them, but not so much now as, like so much TV drama, it seems obligatory to have at least one nude sex scene.

We liked Midsomer Murders, also Bergerac, Dalziel and Pascoe, Hetty Wainthrop and Gideon's Way from UK and Rockford Files, Ironside, Harry O, Cagney and Lacey etc. from the US.

RolloTheRed

RolloTheRed Report 12 Mar 2017 11:25

they are still very much around on Alibi, Drama and so on. There is even Perry Mason in the current listings. Haven't noticed van der Valk or Shoestring for a bit.
I'd like to see back Colombo, Hill Street Blues and no.1 Z Cars.
Life On Mars?

Back to the here and now there is an upcoming series of "Call of Duty".
Goodie.
