JemimaFawr Report 26 Mar 2017 20:02

Yes, it was <3

J has been actually very good, sorting all decorators mess as best he could.

But now I've quarrelled with him cos he's been painting with "Quick Dry Gloss" which he bought by mistake after me telling him not to get that one! :-0 :-0 :-0

When I told him what he'd done ... it did not go down too well! :-( :-( :-(

Fly :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D!

The woodwork, radiators and door. I hate it, it is chalky and not at all shiny and slinky like proper gloss, and it has not covered everything properly:-( :-( :-(

**Ann**

**Ann** Report 26 Mar 2017 20:08

Did he undercoat and sand first :-)

Fly

Fly Report 26 Mar 2017 20:09

JemimaFawr Report 26 Mar 2017 20:11

He sanded, but not undercoat. The quick dry gloss will have to be the undercoat methinks :-0

Did he read the instructions

When applying water-based paints to surfaces previously decorated with a conventional solvent- based paint, very thorough surface preparation will be necessary. STIR THOROUGHLY BEFORE USE. Apply 1 or 2 coats of Dulux Trade Quick Dry Undercoat as required, followed by 1 or 2 coats of Dulux Trade Quick Dry Gloss. :-( :-(

JemimaFawr Report 26 Mar 2017 20:20

Well, there you go! :-0 :-D :-D :-D

This is the B&Q Colours one

Hate the finish of it anyway! It's powdery like matt emulsion :-(

I had to throw away tins of gloss cos they had been in the shed unopened for so long that they were rock hard! ... and now he's moaning about having wasted his money :-| :-D :-D

**Ann**

**Ann** Report 26 Mar 2017 20:26

Oooooer...it's important to follow the instructions..when using gloss...or it can turn out a bit of a disaster...I hate glossing :-( :-(

If you have only got a small area Jem..it's well worth splashing out on a better paint product than B&Q own brand....because sometimes the cheaper ones are harder to work with :-(

JemimaFawr

JemimaFawr Report 26 Mar 2017 20:29

I actually prefer them. I used a B&Q lovely glossy red in Grandson 1's room and blue for his cupboards, for his Spider-man theme. It was very good.

I don't like Dulux much. The Great Mills (later Focus) did a good one.

The woodwork in the whole house needs to be done.
