some of you may know that I have had a poorly knee for a number of weeks now -well last Friday I had an MRI scan privately [paid for by my lovely son[ - £310!!

Well seems I have a cracked bone somewhere in my knee and a problem with the cartilage as well and the pain is excruciating - great difficult walking. Was taking co codamol but made me very ill, so now on Tramadol and paracetamol - can still feel the pain but it does deaden it a bit. GP has made a referral to a surgeon so wait and see what occurs!! :-D :-D

Hope you can find an answer that will relieve the pain Ann. Do you know how you did it?

Ask yr doctor to make a cortisone injection into the knee; it will prob quieten the pain down a lot. Only takes a minute - much better than oral painkillers.

well thank you Ann, Rollo and Mersey - no idea what happened, haven't done anything I'm aware of - old age catching up presumably. The way I am walking, or should I say staggering, I need a parrot for my shoulder and a crutch!!! Fortunately I can still drive OK and I won't let it beat me!!

AnnCardiff Report 30 Mar 2017 21:54

don't think I'll fit in your wheelie bin!! :-D

Trammies, Ann - that's what the young ones take with a drink to get high! I think Rollo has made a good suggestion with the injection.

Your ganglion will have to be content with second place at the moment. :-D

Kay????

Ouch,!!

doctor wont give you a corticosteroid injection in your knee if you have a damaged cartlidge ........it can cause more harm to the cartlidge as the steroid can break it down if over used .,,,,,,,then you will end up with bone on bone.

Well I know who has a wonderful decorated crutch...they may offer a loan of it if you ask nicely. :-D :-D.

rest it.

Hope you soon get it sorted Ann.
We are survivors though and I also think a cortisone injection is a good idea!
