A few days ago I found a pot with some yoghurt in it in the fridge. There was mould on the top so I carefully removed it and tipped the whey away (!). The bit that was underneath was enough to make some more in the flask with some milk so I did.

That batch was fine and I saved a bit to make some more. That went in the flask last night and, when I tipped it out this morning it was bubbling and I am told it didn't taste good. You don't think I tasted it myself do you?

That made some pretty good cheese scones this afternoon. Waste not want not!

Hope the taster doesn't have a bad reaction. I did that once and was 'ill' from both ends :-(

I am still here, sitting quietly with no need to rush anywhere.

We have some lemon buns as well. They were made with the sugar that was left over when I did the candied peel the other day and some lemon curd I made yesterday. There is some other stuff in there too.

My MIL used to make lovely plain scones from sour milk

She would put a pint of milk to one side to go off and then when it had separated she would drain off the top clear liquid and mix the curd with self racing flour to make scones

They would raise well and were lovely with butter .( well margarine cos couldn't afford butter) and strawberry jam .

I used to make them too for hubby after we married. .he loved them
