Oh! I thought it was THAT word Kense!

Is it rude? Oh gosh!

Oh, sorry, gosh is a euphemism, which means it's a word that is used instead of a taboo word.

..............ummmmmmmmmm..........

Sorry, can't think of a word to express surprise that isn't rude or religious based.

I could say 'Surprise'! But it sounds wrong in this context, and you'd probably be disappointed to know I haven't got an Easter egg for you.

Sorry, Easter eggs - Christian or Pagan?

Anybody remember the poster with the Durex Formula 1 car that was captioned "Durex, the small family car"?

Tizer the appetiser
"You can tell it's Tizer when your eyes are (wide) shut"
Perfect with deep fried zebra mussels

are there any naughty words under Z?
Well yes in French and Arabic not sure in English

Then Zebedee said time for bed.

Are there any thread members my age or more remember ZUBE pastilles ?

There used to be posters on hoardings showing a giraffes neck and saying

for your throat's sake....suck it and see.

But what length of dots is required? Is two enough? Five how many? Also as previously noted it can only reflect a "naughty" word if the reading reads it that way.

Kense

Kense Report 13 Apr 2017 10:30

A row of dots is known as an ellipsis, a form of punctuation that means "the omission from speech or writing of a word or words that are superfluous or able to be understood from contextual clues."

CNN have a twitter feed of current news...
this feed is also converted into morse code at various speeds, from 7 wpm up to ( as far as I am able) impossible speeds....

good practice...........if you have nothing else to do, (like housework ironing....etc)

Caroline

Caroline Report 12 Apr 2017 17:21

Funny that Rollo I never said there was anything twisted about knowing morse code.
