............. about the 1911 census. You know how they say "I have 10 children and 9 died so I have 1 left" Is there anyway to find those 9 children?

OK so they didn't lose 9, but I think you get what I mean.

Have you tried looking for them on the GRO birth index which includes mothers maiden names https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/indexes_search.asp

GRO now has the mother's maiden name so you can put the surname of any child with MMN and find them.

I found the children my great grandparents had who died. On 1911 census it had - 14 live births - 9 died - 5 alive.

There were gaps between the 5 who survived so I just searched the gap years and after the last 1. The first surviving child was born just over a year after the marriage so started after her.
