St George is also patron Saint of Catalonia where today is the day of the rose and has a similar effect on the takings of florists and restaurants to 14 Feb. Maybe we should do the same. |

Our local town celebrated on Friday with school children parading through the streets. The council usually decorates the main shopping area with St George's pennants. I think there's normally Street entertainment on the closest Saturday. |

I have only seen one place round here that has even mentioned it. A local village hall was decked with flags yesterday advertising the St Georges day march. |
