Sharron Report 30 Apr 2017 14:48

Ooh no. I have to have a worry about how we can afford the food, the insurance, the vet, where we can put the dirt box(es) until we can let them into the kitchen because the cat flap is open for the ferals? Is it fair on the ferals, will they stop coming/

Then we move on to, what will we do if we go away?

After that I have to worry about the road, which is not very busy and examine my conscience as to whether I can provide them with the home they need for the rest of their lives.

Once I have that sorted I have to look at the bank account to make sure I have enough for two adoption fees should I need them.

Then I might just get my butt down there.

Are you going today? <3

It doesn't really matter what I want does it?

If a pair decide that they are going to be coming home with us then we have no appeal have we?

The last time I went to get a rescue cat, RSPCA 1996 and I am still waiting for his hme visit, I quite clearly heard the words "And where the bloody hell do you think you have been while I have been waiting here all this time?" coming from one of the cages. Asked to see him, gave him a cuddle and he bit my ear, like a bus conductor punching his ticket!

I must just go and present myself to see if I am suitable

Have just been looking on their website and they seem to have quite a few pairs and even a trio or two looking for homes, so you'll be spoilt for choice.

http://www.crrc.co.uk/adopt-a-cat.php

Don't know if you're thinking of taking on a singleton or a pair, but it would be lovely if you could keep a pair that are used to each other together.

Hope you can give us an update soon, when your lucky feline house mate(s) move(s) in! :-D

One scrap (with resident human growling encouragement) usually sorts it - well it did when my dominant male, Mister, was put down, and the woos, George, had to 'take over'. I saw them fighting, was worried for George, but not wiling to suffer multiple lacerations, so went out and growled/hissed at them.

The 'argument ' was with next doors dominant cat - nowhere to cr*p (all decking and pebbles - where their dogs do their business), so they thought my grass was 'fair game' - a 'take over' of land bid to other cats. :-|

Now, if I see one of next doors cats in my garden, I just move a door handle, and it's off.
I actually feel sorry for them, with nowhere to do their business, but I can't be doing with it on my grass - and they're the aggressive ones.

I am just pleased they have not heard about my cat pie business!

Sharron .............

glad you got advice

I was having visions of the back and front cats objecting to the indoor cat, or vice versa :-D

They have known me for a long time but I did ring to get some advice as to whether I should have a cat because of the ferals. I don't want to let them down.

We only have Cats Protection in the area.

Good on you, Sharron!!

As you probably know, my cats were rescue cats, from a local Cat & Kitten Rescue group.
Well, I say that, their mother, Tilly was. 'Oh she's been spayed - a kitten got stuck', and yes, she had stitches right across her belly.
But she was an Irish cat. My sister lived in Ireland - the vet couldn't neuter her cat, as he didn't know how much anaesthetic to use - more used to farm animals.

Sooooooo Tilly had kittens. She had them on my sofa, (plenty of newspaper, and old towels) and wouldn't let me move. Every time I, say, tried to go to the loo, she jumped down and followed me -even during contractions.
They weren't 'perfect' kittens, one had a stunted bent tail and small head, another was a midget - perfectly formed, but small, the other was extra long - and skinny!
:-S

Tilly didn't want to live with them. She got very aggressive towards them, and started peeing IN my bed. Either 3 not perfect kittens (2 black, 1 black and white), or one beautiful tabby had to go back and be rehomed.
Tilly went back. She was rehomed as an only cat less than a week later.

A lovely lady up the road is a volunteer at the rescue group - and she comes to feed my cats when I'm away. I say feed, she sits with them and cuddles them for at least an hour at every feed :-0

It is not Cat's Protection, it is a local one called Holborrow Lodge who specialize in cats, rabbits and guinea pigs.

As I have not had one delivered to me, it looks like I am going to have to choose from what they have to offer.

So as you going to adopt from them

Mr Tibbs the current man of the house was adopted from Cats Protection 22months ago . He will be 4 in .june

Mirabelle the British Shorthair ,who lived to 17 plus ,was adopted from them when she was 7 months old

If I was going to adopt again I wouldn't go anywhere else to find a friend

Today we were visited by a lady from the local cat rescue charity.

Because we have not lived up to the exacting standards of the now, two, feral cats who come in the back door to eat us out of house and home on a nightly basis. The don't wish to live with the likes of us!

The front windowsill cat belongs to people up the road.

We have now been assessed and can provide a 'lovely set up for one or two adult cats'.
