	Can anyone help with letters on my ...X great grandfather's gravestone, please? I have asked the cathedral stonemasons, the Latin teachers in my family (one working in a convent school), clergy I know and the people in the church where the gravestone is situated. It is a small, low upright rectangular stone, erected in 1711, with a straight top about two inches wide. The wording on the front is clearly legible but along the top, beginning about a third of the way along is the following: C + H Because the letters are not equidistant along the top, I feel that there may have been something following the H but I can't be sure. The stonemasons do not think it is a mason's mark. I have never seen anything like this but I hope someone can help.
