I think the website is being updated. Will have another look tomorrow because I can't imagine they would stop doing stadium tours at the end of May.

Arrange it for later in the year?

That's a pain to say the least.

Rats,rats and more rats!

The weekend we were planning to go to Newcastle is the bank holiday isn't it? That is not a very practical time to be staying in a hotel and it doesn't look like the football club do the tour after May.

Oh jam and butter it!!!!!!!

Actually Sharron, I prefer the one day meets, which is why all the ones we have been to are near(ish) to home.

I did go to one in Pompey once and met Wend, Uzzi, Gwynne in Kent, Foggy and a lady who had been at school when I was.

Have met some of them since, Wend.of course, but an hour or so in a pub is about as much as I like. A whole weekend would probably be too much for me, especially at the moment.

Great idea sharron and a worthy way to spend the money. Fred's mate was as much a part of your entertaining posts as was Fred so he deserves the treat if you can arrange it. Maybe if there is ever a small meet arranged in your area you would feel able to go. Actually there don't seem to be many meets a t all these days do there?

Sounds like a really good plan Sharron hope you all enjoy it.

Sharron, I think that's a great idea and I am sure everyone else on here will agree Fred's mate also deserves a treat, as well as your o.h.

It's a shame you don't feel up to a meet yet, we aren't a huge gathering at Sheffield, or scary, but you will know when the time is right to make that next step.

Meantime, if and when you can make plans to travel further afield, keep us posted and maybe you can get to know one or two of us at a time.

It's amazing that three years have gone by since you lost Fred, but he will never be forgotten by those of us who read of his antics and admired your brilliant way of caring for Fred while keeping him as active and fulfilled as possible.

Btw how's the writing going?

When Fred died, three years ago would you believe, there was an extraordinarily kind and generous whip round on here which I was most surprised to receive and am still very, very grateful for.

Since then I have not wanted to go anywhere very much and still don't feel I could cope with a meet with a lot of partying people, so I am sorry that I can't face coming to the Sheffield meet.

However, we have the new car and Fred's mate has a birthday next week and I did say he deserved to have more of the money than ever I did. It is still safely in a bank account and we have decided that we will buy him a Sunday dinner a week next Sunday if I can get it all arranged. That is what we have told him anyway.

Fred's mate is a staunch supporter of Newcastle United or Newcastle Nil as I like to call it when I talk to him. My OH is into football as well, I bought them each a tour of Wembley for Christmas one year. It is possible to buy a tour of St James Park with a Sunday dinner to follow and we are hoping to have OH and Fred's mate do this while I have the misfortune to sit in the bar waiting for them.

We three used to go to different places together before Fred had the stroke and I am hoping this will be the beginning of some more of our adventures. I would like to thank you all again for making our new adventures possible.
