Do you have another computer? If so, email your chosen photo to yourself and pick it up on your main computer. Then use that computer to go into Genes and change your avatar.

That worked for me. Changing it on an iPad/tablet seems to be beyond the GR program.

When I started I opened a free account with Photobucket
I put my photos into the Photobucket account
then uploaded to GR

I you want to use GP's avatar your photos must be in JPEG format

I don't think you can upload from a camera.

I think it has to be done from a computer ........ at least that is the way I've always done it, and had no problems.


Remember GR is a dinosaur, and not very up to date in its functions!

then click on changing photo in my account.....

What machine are you using? I have this problem when I try to change my avatar on my iPad but it works fine on our desktop pc. If you are on an iPad try using a different machine.

Hi Kathryn

I am not sure what your camera has to do with it.

Try this.....

Click on "Account"

Click on "Change Photo"

Click on "Browse"

Select the photo you want to use as your profile and click on "Open"

Then click on "Upload"

Then click on "Save" at the bottom of the page.

I hope that works!

That's assuming you have your photo saved to your computer of course.

I've found it will only take jpg photos

Morning everyone, could any one tell me how to get my profile photo back?
The camera won't take any pictures it seems to be locked
