STOP IT!

we should NOT be arguing who said what when and what was meant by, and who is a cold fish, who not

I did not start this thread for such things.

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 19 Jun 2017 19:43

nor did I start it for Rollo to make his usual snide comments.

I really do not know what this world is coming to.

*This is no better than the publicity stunt ..*

He lived round the corner and was the local MP. Of course he was going to be there. He went as soon as he heard. It's the humane thing to do, plus it's his job, as local MP.

You think he should have stayed at home in case the press were there?

God, this place gets worse with every passing day.

A man is dead, people are injured yet JC-bashing is what's happening instead of sympathy for those affected.

Rose ..............

don't remove yourself, PLEASE!

But if you all could stop trying to decide whether JC is crying or not, I would really appreciate it

Or else I will delete the thread myself

BTW ........... I trust you don't mean Jesus Christ????????

Guinevere Report 19 Jun 2017 19:56

Happy to, Sylvia, sorry. I should take my own advice and avoid this place.

A bit pathetic that it was mentioned in the first place on such a thread.

It is only a stone's throw from Holloway Police Station to Finsbury Park Mosque plus patrol cars are up and down the Blackstock Rd all the time. The blues n twos are on so often it is like being in Queens or the Bronx. I cannot see how the police took 20 mins to turn up 5 mins would have been slow.

Islington is great fun to live in with its very diverse and very friendly community of Londoners and adoptive Londoners. It is very much a street community this is not a comfort zone for the stiff upper lip. In sarf Lunnun Brixton is much the same.

I could not conceive even one person doing anything so horrible who was from the area. Cardiff! From what one can tell the guy needs to be sectioned.

That is the trouble now we have given into the Ukip crowd more of these loonies will try to make their fantasies real believing that God is on their side

Quietly Islington has built a thriving community of traders, media artists, good food, interesting shops, good schools and parks. Unfortunately the great white developer sharks have noticed and are positioning themselves for the kill. Fulham and Chelsea suffered the same fate in the 60s and 70s Hackney and Hoxton are fighting for survival. I do not think it is snide to mention this.

If J C cried why is that bad. He is human the same as me .I have cried buckets over the last few weeks over the dreadful things that have happened here. It doesnt make me weak . Sometimes tears flow and that is a good thing.Politictions are Human too just like us Joe Public.Tears are good.
Shi* is happening here at the moment .Too many deaths .We need to cry. Forget the stiff upper lip.

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 19 Jun 2017 20:45

Jane .......

I did ask for people to stop this discussion of whether or not JC cried or not.

and just who the h* is this JC who has basically destroyed the intent of this thread?

Jane

Jane Report 19 Jun 2017 20:57

J C (Jeremy Corbyn (? sp) is the leader of the Labour Party .
I will add no more .

I agree with Sylvia. This thread is not about who did or did not cry in public. No one seems particularly interested into why ther was any need for distress.

Let us hope there is no retaliation and peace prevails.

Surely we are living in inusual times and it is 2017 I don't like JC. but it does show the human side of him and that must be a good thing

It seems that the person charged is from Wales, anglo- sounding name

so NOT apparently an immigrant, just a plain homegrown idiot with a hatred for someone or something........

............. just like the ones we've had over here, and is causing the Federal Government to spend well over $2 million just to proved maximum security on July 1 in front of the Parliament Buildings in Ottawa as we celebrate Canada's 150th birthday.

I know the location well as it was on my route to and from work for nearly 20 years.

Often saw people going to and from the mosque.

A sad event of which no good will come.

I am tempted to come to the conclusion that all religions should be banned worldwide.

Worst thing I can recall before in that spot was a burst water main which closed the road for several days. I got told off by a copper for pushing my motorbike along the pavement to avoid a long detour to get round it. I always got lost on detours.

The fact that this thread went off on a slight tangent is not unusual - many everyday conversations do just that. Its something we have all experienced and I have seen far worse on these boards.

Point scoring? Not at all. Simply different, personal views on the subject of leaders weeping in public, based on different personal experiences.

To return to Sylvia's OP - 'an accident or ??????????'

Obviously not an accident according to recent news, no doubt more will emerge over the coming days.

It is wonderful to see how the communities so tragically affected by the horrendous fire and this latest atrocity are uniting in strength and purpose.

Brian contemplates that all religions should be banned. That has been tried. It doesn't work.

These atrocities are carried out by men following men, not by men following God.

Rabbi Jonathan Sacks' book 'Not in God's Name', is stated as being a rebuke to all those who kill in the name of the God of life, wage war in the name of the God of peace, hate in the name of the God of love, and practise cruelty in the name of the God of compassion.

We press on.
