yes and that's not joking about children starving and I'm touched you've kept that one.

It was RR by whomever was it ever restored I don't remember but I think you weren't posting at that time.

Exactly Cynthia.

Military in my lot too.

Leaders of many kinds.

Stiff upper lip and all that, but not a cold fish to be found.

All immensely kind, caring and compassionate to a fault. They just knew that they had to maintain self control in certain situations. What happened in the privacy of their homes was a personal matter.

I've never made jokes about Somalian children starving or otherwise!

JC is actually rather pathetic. This is no better than the publicity stunt he tried to pull on the train lying on the floor pretending to claim there were no free seats.

Caroline

Caroline Report 19 Jun 2017 19:00

You calling me a cold fish??

Childish if you are.....I was brought up that way old military and all that...not a problem..

Caroline

Caroline Report 19 Jun 2017 18:49

Oh well........

Guinevere

Guinevere Report 19 Jun 2017 18:47

Like I said, Rose. Pathetic point scoring. A terrorist attack but let's have a pop at JC instead of condemning the terrorist, eh?

Caroline

Caroline Report 19 Jun 2017 18:44

Level playing field...I think no leader should be tearing up in public....in a private meeting is one thing in front of cameras big no no on the street big big no no.

But as I said agree to disagree with you.

And yes it does seem that the dead person was already dying before the attack not that it lessens the death in any way.

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 19 Jun 2017 18:44

I am very often moved by events but I do not weep in public.

Sometimes, pain is too deep for tears.

Folk with autism may have difficulties in expressing empathy. It does not mean they do not care, nor that they are psychopathic.

I have read at more funerals than I care to remember. As much as I mourned the death of the person concerned, I simply HAD to hold it together - hence the clothes peg.

BBC news at six suggested the poor chap who collapsed and died with a suspected heart attack was nothing to do with the attack.

Wiping away one tear. I said that, that is not "crying in the streets". That is being human and being moved by a death.

Show me a photo of him "crying in the street".

I don't even like the bloke but I'm so sick of the toxic atmosphere and petty point scoring on GR.

Caroline

Caroline Report 19 Jun 2017 18:35

There were pictures of him with his hands to his face and wiping tears away

Guinevere

Guinevere Report 19 Jun 2017 18:27

But I'm right, unless you have photographic evidence of him "crying in the street"?

Caroline

Caroline Report 19 Jun 2017 18:21

Oh well we'll agree to disagree.

I was brought up old fashioned you don't cry in any form in public, doesn't mean you don't care or feel anything but what next wailing and throwing yourself on coffins at funerals. That's an old military family for you though or psychopathic family whatever.

Guinevere

Guinevere Report 19 Jun 2017 18:02

I disagree.

And no one was crying in the street.

Caroline

Caroline Report 19 Jun 2017 17:57

Being moved by events and crying on the street not the same thing at all.

I heard conflicting reports on police response time ..... one said 10 minutes, one said 15 to 20 minutes and another guy said 45 minutes.

However, if reports about someone taking ill and people tending to him are correct, I would have expected an ambulance/paramedic to be called first.

Is the guy who took ill the same person who died?

I agree with IGP. I fear it is not going to be a peaceful summer for London if not for all areas.

RolloTheRed

RolloTheRed Report 19 Jun 2017 17:22

If reports are true that it took 20mins for the police to arrive they must have lost the page defining "urgent".

Guinevere Report 19 Jun 2017 17:13

JC wasn't weeping in the streets. He brushed away a tear. How pathetic to lie about it. Bless the right wing press. Fortunately those with sense don't believe them. May cried when she met the relatives of those killed in Grenfell Tower. Not so strong and stable.

Not at all surprising, though, there's something deeply psychologically wrong with anyone not moved by recent events. Lack of empathy is called psychopathic.
