Why do cafes do this?

This morning we, as we sometimes do, decided to have a small breakfast in Tesco before doing our shopping. So I had eggs on toast and OH had egg and beans on toast. Starting the second piece of toast it tasted burnt but looked fine, so I removed the egg and turned it over, it was completely charred underneath. This has happened in other places, do they think we can't taste it? I got it changed and the waitress looked at me with surprise, as if I should be glad to eat burnt toast! |

They are probably so used to the results from faulty equipment, that they see it as 'normal'. |

Maybe, however they don't ever present the toast with the burnt side up do they? |

Ann I sometimes have the same problem, although Alun doesn't, I wonder if it is because he only eats white bread, but I only eat brown bread, so maybe they think that as the bread is brown I might not notice that the toast is burnt. lol!! :-D :-D |
