I was going to say Pat that Les has inherited the talent of his Grandfather. Lovely poem Les. And yours too Jem.

What a talented poet. You obviously inherited the talent.

There are a couple of actors, brothers Robert and Philip Glenister - any relation. ;-) :-D

Beautiful Les <3

What a talented man your Grandfather was :-)

It reminds me of a song by Ryan Davies of Ryan and Ronnie, two welsh comedian/ singers/ entertainers a bit like Morecambe and Wise but with singing.

It's called Pan Fo'r Nos Yn Hir .... When The Night is Long

Literally translated the meaning is

When the night is long
and the dawn is far away
Battling through the long hours
without an hour’s sleep
Fighting, tossing and turning
through the great, long hours
Without seeing the close of yesterday
nor the end of my journey

Then through the black darkness
I see your face
I remember the romance
the eyelid closes
When the night is long.

Then through the black darkness
I see your face
Fear and terror vanish away
When the night becomes day.

It's a goosebump song

Night slowly dying, when shall the light
Chase back your shadows grey and cold?
And glad my eyes with vision bright,
More lustrous than the purest gold!-

You were the Angel of my dream-
Divine in sweet sincerity!
When thou dids't smile on me,and seem
Compassionate for love of me!

Steep my tired eyes in sleep again,
And let me feel that thou art near;
'Twill solace me thro' aching pain,
Of waiting on,for many a year!

Clement John Glenister ( my grandfather) June 1912..

Night Night all!! LES.....
