Indeed Guinevere.

The recent jaw-dropping official Irish report of dead babies being inexplicably disposed/dumped in a cesspit of a Convent run 'mother & baby unit' near Tuam, Co Galway remains a challenging & an unsettling debate over there.

In the time of our primitive ancestors Charlie would have died untreated. Also, our primitive ancestors often "disposed" of those unable to work. Deformed babies were often disposed of and the disabled left to fend for themselves or die.

I think now we have it better. I just feel so sorry for Charlie's parents exploited by people who had their own agendas. Very, very sad.

Having read many comments (good & detestable) on various public threads & in the Press, I wonder why the morals of 'modern man' are not unquestionably superior to those of our often revered & much respected primitive ancestors.

Its sad that his parents weren't able to spend much time with him outside of the hospital setting. Hopefully the Hospice has a 'cold cot' so that they can, if they so wish, take him 'home' for a few days. Unfortunately, its highly likely that the paparazzi have already staked it out. :-0

What ever our opinions may have been, we would surely agree that his parents fought hard for their son. Now is the time for them to take time grieve in private and rebuild their lives.
