Soap nuts are nuts, proper nuts that grow on a tree, and you can use them instead of washing powder.

I have not tried them yet but they are supposed to be as effective and you use two or three, which you can re-use a few times.

I might also tell you that I have another set of four sieves which came from Aldi but they are too fine to pass soup through easily. So I have only really bought the three new ones out of laziness, as you might have expected!

You would probably be very impressed by the tee-shirt I am wearing today as well. I was when I bought it in 1991!

Oh dear, I hope I have not triggered a lot of jealousy by bragging about my new sieves.

If you don't need 3 sieves, you can always send it over here :-D . I could use a new one. ;-) <3

Sold in a pack of three?

Good job you weren't on the hunt for a single condom then.

Sharron Report 31 Jul 2017 18:32

That is how they are sold, in a pack of three.

I was so carries away that I forgot to mention the bag of soap nuts.

Well, we have sorted out the debts and decided we have enough to pay outright for the car and save the interest so now I have discovered that I really am a spendthrift.

It is non-stop indulgence in fripperies now, no fewer than three sieves from Wilkinsons, a new measuring jug and a wide-mouthed flask to make it easier to make yogurt, a new stitch ripper, some sewing needles, another bottle of lavender oil because the one I bought five years ago is nearly empty, dishcloth yarn because it was greatly reduced in the sale, two reels of cotton and a little bit of new patchwork material.

Is there no end to it?
