This morning, I put some washing out, then went down town - wearing a lightweight waterproof jacket.
It was a bit warm :-(
Came home, was pootling about just now and wondered if my washing was dry.
Went out - oh - one raindrop on the bin - I'll get it in.
That one raindrop turned into stair rods! :-| :-| :-|

In the time it took me to get the (was dry, now with huge raindrops on it) laundry in, my shirt was absolutely sodden, as was my hair!!
In the time it took me to get changed and towel my hair - the rain stopped.

I have an inch-deep puddle by my front door now :-| :-|

We have had cloudbursts like that during the past week. Today so far has been warm and sunny but tomorrow doesn't look good. So from the lovely weather of a few weeks back we are back to our typical will it won't it summer.

I woke up to see the sun as a round red orb in a hazy sky

Now the sky is very hazy and the sun shining through is casting an orange-y glow

It is still hot

The wind changed direction overnight and we are now in an outflow situation .............. it is blowing from the interior of the province to the coast and bringing all the smoke from the fires to us.

You may have read that we have the most incredible fire situation going on here .............. so far it is the 3rd worst fire year in terms of land burnt in historical records.

And August and September are "traditionally" the "bad" months for fire.

The fire season started early ........ almost 6 weeks ago. No rain since June 20.

Air quality here is getting bad, and will get worse over the next 2-3 days

'There is always some kind of weather this time of year'.

The BBC Breakfast weather forecast for central and south England was for fine weather with occasional heavy showers with parts of the South East (Kent?) escaping most of the showers.

We had good weather with one heavy shower in the late morning, so I thought the forecast was pretty accurate.

Worth remembering that the sun shines all day every day, it's jut that at times it is obscured by clouds and rain.................. ;-)
