Not as good as France then Rollo where nobody looks to make money out of you and where, by the way I don't like strong coffee. Our Tesco cafe is not expensive by the way. For goodness sake Rollo, accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative.

Shopping is for the most part a joyless experience where the seller seeks to part the trusting shoppers of their money. Supermarkets and clothes/shoe shops are the worst the former selling fake trust and the latter the impossible idea that off the peg is going to fit. The clothes/shoe shops embellish their pitch with the idea that quality work can be bought from Bangla Desh and Vietnam for $1/hr and a 60 hour working week.

As well as having eating areas selling gross grotty nosh at high prices (eg Tesco Giraffe) the British high Street has added an acne like outbreak of chain and supposedly independent coffee shops to the retail mix. Sometimes they outnumber the real shops (not counting charity shops and betting outlets). One thing they have in common is an inability to make decent coffee.

Not surprisingly the diserning shopper has fled to Amazon and real independents.

Good morning all

Have grandson this week again. They are off on holiday on Saturday for two weeks

We are off very soon to do the weekly shop

We had been stopping at BBs to have a drink before tackling sainbury. I have a coffee grandson has a croissant with butter and jam and a soft drink

It's sunny but a bit chilly here in Kent at the mo. Tuesday to Thursday is forecast rain which is a pain as I am having the garage door replaced on Thursday with a remote control one . :-)

Good morning Les (& Mersey & Pat) from a grey damp Gloucester. Pleased to see your cheerful self on here this morning. How lovely for your daughter to have you with her to cheer her up while shopping. I bet you stop for a coffee too. We always have a coffee before we do our Tesco shop. (Shh, sometimes we have a sneaky egg on toast or sausage bap as well!). Yes you'd need wellies here too.

I am meeting friends later to go to our small studio cinema where we have lunch then see a film, very good value too at £3.50 for the film.

Glad you're enjoying yourself Les.

I hate shopping so if you can turn a chore into fun well done. I enjoy shopping with my daughter (she hates shopping) we see what we want and where to go and dive around the shops but stop for coffee and a chat - that's the highlight of the shopping. We then finish asap and go home.

It's 30 C and cloudy here.

Have a lovely time with your daughter Les. :-D <3
