Wonderful story of bravery. Well known story in the area of course. I used to listen to Radio Nottingham, that's where I first heard the story of it.

My OH was the baby of a big family.
He grew up in the same house as 4 older sisters (one married living at home) and 2 grandmothers.
The men were redundant and sent to the pub :-0 :-0 :-0

Both of my brothers do their own ironing and share of the housework too.
Both of their wives work and whoever's home first gets stuck in.

My big brother is a great cook too.
