I grow my lemon balm in a pot so no problem with it spreading and not so far down to pick it either! I pick the small young leaves and add them to a chicken sandwich to make a nice change. :-) |

Lemon balm is a member of the mint family and like mint will spread all over the place if allowed to. it is not related to lemon verbena which reached the UK from Spain. It is native in S America. |

So,indeed, does sage. That plant in the front garden is now about five foot square. It is coming out and going in another pot under the front window. |
