Before I forget a couple who spend a lot of time here had a tip from a diabetic friend when the male of the couple was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Out here they always carry a small bottle or can of Coke Cola and in Ireland a Mars bar just in case. He is prone to hypos (low sugar) but he does have other problems that I won't go into.

Already got him sorted out Pat thanks <3

Glad about that as I saw a woman go through a hypo in the hairdressers. They thought she was drunk, then someone who knew her came in and said she was diabetic, they dialed 999 and the ambulance men asked for biscuits or chocolate to boost her sugar. Suddenly she was back with us and had her hair done - silly lady did her injection but then rushed out without eating her breakfast.

I get a mild form of this if I've been busy and had to wait for a meal when we go out so I just ask for a pop of some kind as well as my water. Only happened a couple of times. Now eat something about 4 pm when I go out. This afternoon I'm having a banana - oh the joys of low carb diets :-S

Morning Fly. <3 :-D

Pat, when I was travelling with colleagues in the sixties, one was diabetic and had an episode but we knew he always had choc or something like that in his pocket. He recovered very rapidly when he ate that.

Fly, want another pooch until Monday? Well behaved, playful and quite bouncy. Still in the learning stage. He's lying flat out at the moment. :-D

OH is a meat eater so not had to change his diet much :-)

You just need something that puts sugar into the blood stream quickly. Chocolate is very good at that. My sister's mother in law carried jam sandwiches around in her handbag. :-D

No I'm allowed all meats but doc says preferences are chicken and fillet steak :-D

Fish is good but naked not covered in batter. The Indian restaurant does a great tandoori fish salad :-D :-D :-D :-D

He is cute but I think he could be one of those guys that knows it if we're not careful.

He's young enough to be at the stage when an early morning 6 am walk followed by brekkies and another walk tires him out. OH has been doing most of it but I did the second walk this morning and, joy of joys, the men were cutting the grass in the park and the football pitch .....
