Barbra! I literally do not understand what I have said and done to reflect what you are saying......

Firstly Mancunians are thick...??? My mother and her family are from Manchester, I grew up in Manchester with My Grandparents...so that in itself has indevoured to upset me!!! where the hell did I say such a thing?? or even question the programme that way?

Secondly this thread was about a lovely boy called Jack who shone through in the school as being someone who felt he wanted to help and mostly be friends with another no matter who he was , his religion or colour of his skin!!!!

I can say what I want and no all the facts??, that is simply not true (stunned by your remarks)

You are fully entitled to your opinion but please reread what this thread was really about at the beginning and maybe you can see it in yourself to apologise!!!

Manchester was Lancashire in my day.I lived in .Manchester 8 Lancashire.

I went to a very good school in .Manchester city where standards were very high. This was in the days when to get into university you had to take Latin as a subject.
The teachers all wore their gowns except the sports teachers and correct grammar was essential.

I hate the fact that they call Manchester people Mancs and their vocabulary is lacking and not as I remember it.
We were polite ,well behaved and proud of being Mancunians or Salfordians.

Maggie, rofl

Whose next? Oops, no, it's who with an apostrophe s!!

I loved the programme and liked the way the immigrant children were aided by the cogs class. Jack's family must be very proud of the way he behaved towards Rani. Murad too is a nice young man - I am sure he will go far. Looking forward to more episodes

I used to teach maths in Ashton-under-Lyne and have rellies in Salford.
Just because a bunch of bureaucrats have stitched together stitching up distinct communities into Greater IngSoc does not mean those communities cease to exist. True the BBC and general gentrification of Salford is forcing out the original inhabitants. L S Lowry certainly did not mix up Salford and Manchester.
I don't believe he would think much of the current application of the wrecking ball either. Or the occupation of Salford Quays by the BBC.

Good to see Rosy Scenario alive and well anyroad. Whose next?

Hang out more flags.

Salford and Manchester are very close Rollo. My maternal grandfather was Lord Mayor of Salford in the 50's.
I was brought up in Manchester, but a lot of my great aunts lived n Salford.
