I thought that kiwis were exempt.
Maybe that has changed since the decision to hunt down possums without mercy north and south thus ensuring the survival of the most intelligent creatures in the land of the long white cloud, kleptomaniac parrots.
The kiwis also have it in for the cats.
And the rats.
And the weasels.

Where does this leave policewomen of uncertain status?

Camels are dreadful eating even when young but the beddu relish their stew. The exported camels are mostly exploited for racing and have a short and nasty future. camels are intelligent with long memories. No wonder they are famed for their evil temper.

And also to people who have dual citizenship, except that they have fallen into their own trap.

Under the Constitution, people with dual citizenship cannot become members of either the Senate or the House of Representatives.

It is now becoming apparent that many members of both Houses have such a status and all such cases have been referred to the higher Courts for determination.

This means that any Legislation passed over the years may no longer be valid, including the so-called pogroms.

So, possibly, camels, cats, indigenous and boat people may be exempt from any further action.

Incidentally, camels from Australia are now being exported to the Middle East.

Cats still taste nice ;-) :-D :-D

btw the Oz govt has extended its pogrom policies from indigenous people and boat people to camels and, yes, cats.

During ww2 many pet dogs and cats in the UK were put down thanks to a wholly unjustified ruling from a whitehall bumble that they would deplete human food supply. Many of the uk cats were eaten as rabbit. In France a great many were eaten described also as rabbit or "roof pigeon".

Cats being cats overall numbers soon recovered. In the countryside farmers had never been so daft as to cull the only effective control on mice and rats.

People being people in the UK with peace thoughts returned to the breeding of classic cat breeds such as British shorthairs and Persians. Unfortunately by 1947 the purebred breeding stock was too low to be self sustaining. Cats, esp Persians, were imported. A few (maybe only one) of these had a gene defect PKD causing congenital kidney failure in middle aged cats.

PKD spread throughout the European cat population inc feral.

By about 2000 a DNA test for PKD had been found which by 2006 had been developed into a cost effective test now used by all professional breeders. Cats carrying the defective gene have dropped to around 10% and the number continues to fall. Feral cats remain at risk.

Thus the consequences of eating Felix have had many long term unintended consequences. Quite possibly the feline folk memory has not forgotten.

I am know they do
When we were at the vets with our old cat - the vet examined him and said
"I'm sorry to say the cancer is back and we cant operate again as its too risky" We ere devastated and looked down at the cat - there were big tears rolling down his cheeks, even the vet remarked.

We took him home to live out the time he had - but he had given up and just wanted to eat what he could & sleep

Yesterday I was simmering a bacon hock ready to prepare a pea and ham soup.

I took the meat of the bone and put the bones back in the pan for further treatment. I then retired into the living room where the cat was fast asleep on the sofa.

OH joined me and said that as the meat wasn't quite tender, she had returned it to the pan.

I then remarked that rather than the soup, I'd make a Noah's Ark stew, by putting the cat, guineapig and our two budgies in the pan along with the bacon.

OH remarked that the cat, who is eleven, would be extremely tough eating. I replied that it was no problem I'd use the pressure cooker!

No sooner were the words out of my mouth when the cat suddenly woke up and gave me a glare of such malevolence that I'm, surprised I didn't drop dead on the spot...well, technically, as I was seated I wouldn't actually drop, but you get my drift!
