Walter and I shared a birth year as well as a mostly memorable night with Mr Jim Beam and friends which may be why Walt's passing has hit me so hard.
Have you thought of adding "Reeling in the Years" to your gigs always goes down well and easy to arrange the parts.

I like his music Rollo,and it is so sad to die relatively young.

I read a news letter Jazz North West where I know so many musicians and almost every week I hear of someone who has passed away.....suppose I ,and my other 80 odd yr old musicians, are lucky to still keep playing.

My genre of music is mainly Dixieland/mainstream with Old standards.

Our little band tend to play more of the ones older people in homes or care centres can recognise.

I like to play my classical and keep my fingers supple when on my own. Though I did play some for a 90th birthday party in July.

What would life be like without music?

Walter Becker b Feb 20 1950 has died. He was the other half of Steely Dan along with Donald Fagan. I am sure that BrendafromWales will share my sadness.
