Thinking about it. unless it went to the 20c museum in Craven Arms with a lot of other stuff, I still have a Beatles charm bracelet. It is made of that chap metal and has the letters of Beatles and a beetle with a glass stone which fell out and is stuck in with a bit of paper behind it.

I think I sent off to TV comic for it in 1963 when you had to do those things.

I have a gold charm bracelet with a few charms on, as well as a silver one loaded with charms, including one of the Chichester Cross (Sharron will know what I mean). I got it when I worked near Chichester in 1968. There are charms for all sorts of occasions which bring back lots of memories but as with others, the bracelet is too heavy and catches on clothing so I don't wear it any more.

I have an old silver charm bracelet but don't wear it as it catches on everything. I also have a Pandora bracelet which I don't wear because it is too heavy but I love them both.

I have two charm bracelets.

A silver one that my brother started for my 21st birthday that gradually accumulated a load of charms.

After my mother died (shortly after my 21st), my father had his watch chain converted into a bracelet for me ............ the chain dated back to HIS 21st in 1925, and is a thing of beauty. Added to it was a fob with the coat of arms of our home town that had belonged to his father. Dad then bought new gold charms for every birthday and Christmas until I got married 6 years later, when OH took over.

Both bracelets are so heavy, and now so valuable that they stay in the safe :-(

Dad's chain and fob were interesting .......... his father died young in 1914, leaving a wife and about 6 children, 3 of them boys.

His mother kept the father's watch, chain and fob, and 2 of the boys were given a gold watch with either the chain or the fob. I think it was the eldest boy who got the father's watch.

The father would probably have received them for HIS 21st in 1893, which was the same year he married.

I also have Dad's watch that went with the chain .......... that's also an interesting one because the back opens to show another cover which has to be opened to see the workings. That inside cover is shiny and it was always a great way to entertain small children .......... open the watch and show them their face!!

I bought my eldest grand daughter a Pandora bracelet - because she wanted one!
She has about half a dozen charms on it - and doesn't want any more, as she says it will become difficult to wear.
Three charms came from me - a flower (her name), a cat, and, to remind her of me - a witch on a broomstick! :-D :-D :-D

Kath, it would have never seen the light of day. I have no jewellery at all, don't wear it but when I was ten, I wanted that bracelet so badly!

I wanted a horse as well. Don't know why, I am afraid of them!

I still lik those little charms though.

Sharron, even if you'd got one it would probably have ended up like mine - in a jewelry box never seeing the light of day because they are so awkward to wear.

My sister bought mine for my 21st with a "21" charm and then hubby bought me the rest of the charms - a church when we got married, pram when we had first son, caravan when we went on a camping holiday etc. etc. There are about a dozen charms on it but I got sick of it catching on everything I wore so it hasn't been out of the box for about 35 to 40 years. Hubby thinks I'm ungrateful, lol.

I always wanted one of the old charm bracelets.

Many happy hours were spent with Aunty Doreen's club book, choosing the charms I would buy and receive from my many admirers. Never did but there we are!

Hi Sylvia,

The ring was actually made in America where my sister lives. It was made many years ago but it was the first time we had heard of them.

Kath ...........

those rings are quite common over here, either put together by the mother or as a gift to her from the children (or husband) on a special birthday.

They're often called Family Rings here, as well as Mother Rings.

What a great idea. I bet it is very special to you.

My late mother had a "mother ring" made by a jeweler friend of my sister. It had the birthstones of each of her five children set in it.

I have completed my immediate family tree bracelet using Pandora birthstone charms. It cost a fortune but worth it.

It consists of my Mum & Dad, myself & Hubby, my 2 brothers & sister, my daughters & their husbands and the 6 grandchildren. The clasp says 'Family Forever'.

I had another bracelet a couple of years ago with different coloured ladybirds on it - I like ladybirds.

The shop was quite surprised about the family tree one.
