I bought a 'tape to MP3 converter' about 4/5 years ago and it worked up until 2 years ago when my mum died and i took it off and swore I would never use it again. Ok so that didn't quite happen, but now I am trying to get it to work on the laptop and I just can't figure out why it isn't.

Windows 2000,XP,Vista or 7 user and I have 8.1 on this thing, maybe that is the reason?

It is no longer available on Amazon, hmmmmmmm I wonder if that means anything?????? :-0 :-|

if your laptop has analog audio in - small green socket 3.5mm - it is easy .
1 connect tape device to audio socket with audio wire which will be male each end
2 install audacity ( free )
3 start the tape and capture output with audacity, it offers several output formats and tools to remove noise

the audio connecters are available new for a few pounds on ebay, 2m is the most convenient
