Shoes!
I have just rembered something.
It was late yesterday morning, I was driving and I was running late for work.

Ahead if me, a sprightly, older woman had just crossed the road at a pedestrian crossing.
I remember now that something about her looked odd and I did a double take to make sure I wasn't seeing things.
She was otherwise very well dressed, in a nice coat, carrying a handbag and shopping bag.

I was not mistaken.
The lady wasn't wearing shoes.
Her feet were completely bare.

I was so focused on the time that I forgot all about it until now.

Oh I am glad you could still get home easily.

I have keys to two houses, three garages and a storage area, but not all together on one ring.

I have always carried my spare car keys with me, one set in my pocket the other set in my bag because I don't see the point of having a set at home if I can't get there, I have keys to my mother in laws house by brothers house and of course my house all on separate key rings and yes I am paranoid losing keys :-D

Did you have to leave the car and walk home? My o.h. came home from late shift at work recently and couldn't find his door keys. He drove back to work and found them in the carpark, the wally. He won't keep them on the same ring as the car keys.

No I didn't take them back because I was looking for my keys which I found when I went back in daylight thank goodness. :-)

Maybe they had been stolen and thrown down outside because thry were bring chased or something. Dif you take them back in to the store?

I was looking for my car keys in a supermarket car park and saw a pair of shoes with the tag still on in said car park on the garden area, didn't find keys but wonder why anyone would throw away a perfectly good pair of shoes.
