That's great news Joy! <3
So glad Tigger has now got a nice new home :-)

How can people be so heartless?!

You may have seen on other threads I've posted on recently that we have also taken in an abandoned cat. He is such a character. His latest game is peek-a-boo. He sits on the sofa and I have to hide behind the sofa while he guesses where I am going to pop out from and he tries to catch me! :-D :-D

One of wife's cats used to belong to a neighbour down the street. They were always
locking it out. Wife adopted it after feeding it for a few months. She also had
another from the same house, but it was run over last year, buried in our garden,
but we have two of her kittens.

You never know, Joy.
When I looked after my daughters dog, Hex (a GSD/collie cross) - my cats had never liked dogs, and Hex had a habit of chasing cats - once 'places' had been established in the house, they left each other alone - and Hex kept other cats out of the garden.
Before Sophie was abandoned, her 'oh so caring' owner had accused my huge (neutered) tom cat, Basil of attacking Sophie.
I apologised, and asked how badly she was injured.
She wasn't.
Basil had a habit of befriending female cats - he was very protective of his sister, Tansy.
Sophie was bolshie - she didn't want to be friends and did most of the screaming - at Basil!! He hadn't touched her!
Once in the house, Sophie calmed down.
However, as she had been brought up with a dog, she would occasionally 'bop' Hex on the nose to 'keep her in her place'.
At other times, the pair of them would 'take over' the sofa and snuggle up to each other. :-D :-D
In fact, once she was in the house, Sophie became friends with our other neighbours cat, Tiddles - the pair of them had had quite bad fights before.
I even caught Sophie fishing fish out of my pond - and giving them to Tiddles :-|

I knew a bloke who came home on leave in the '60s to find his mother had moved and left him homeless. He moved in with a neighbour.

I don't understand how people can just disregard their poor pets. I wouldn't be
able to live with my self.

Previous neighbours I had did that - took the dog, left the cat - complete with collar :-| :-|
I noticed her about a year later on the guinea pig hutch. I went to stroke her - she bit me - I knew it was Sophie!
I had 4 cats at the time, and a dog, part - time.
Fed her by the back door for a while.
When she came in the cat flap, I removed her collar - she was mine!!

Ex neighbours came back a couple of years later, found out I had her (they'd 'forgotten' to take her), and wanted to see her.

Sophie usually came when she was called - this time she didn't.
I went up - found her on my bed - and no way was she going to move (neither was I going to force her).
Went down and told the ex-neighbours 'She must be outside, I can't find her'. ;-)
