Londonbelle .............

that looks good ......

......... there does not seem to be any other marriage for an Edw* Ashm* to a Cath* anywhere in England between 1800 and 1827 .......... at least, not on the internet!

LondonBelle Report 7 Jan 2018 17:51

I'm wondering whether Catharine's surname was Selwyn. There is at Baptism on 31 Aug 1788 in Painswick

Catharine dau of William & Sarah Selwyn

Image available.

Then there is this Marriage

Name: Catharine Selvin
Gender: Female
Marriage Date: 10 Mar 1812
Marriage Place: St Nicholas, Bristol, Gloucester, England
Spouse: Edward Ashmill

I haven't been able to find an image for the marriage only a transcript

It is possible then that the surname had changed and that's why I can't find a marriage I will dig a little deeper

This I believe is Edwin's Baptism....there is an image for it

This, I think, is the Baptism for William who appears on both the 1841 & 1851 Censuses

Name: William Ashmall
Age: 0
Birth Date: 16 Jun 1823
Baptism Date: 7 Jul 1823
Baptism Place: Birmingham, St Philip, Warwickshire, England

You will note that the surname in both instances was Ashmall; perhaps the surname was Ashmall and became Ashmore .......Just a thought!

Well I searched Edward Ashmore on ancestry which I don't subscribe to and it came up with a match on a tree and his spouse was Catherine Dickenson and the details of the 1841 census matched, so I did a birth search for Catherine Dickenson and found one born 1790 in painswick Gloucestershire which is the details on the census of 1841 when they lived in shefgield
