Welcome to the boards, Maiposa.

Unfortunately GR doesn't have many Scottish or Irish records.

The Scottish ones are held by Scotlands People which you can search for free & pay to view. https://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/search-our-records
As your Nan was born in 1929, its possible that her BC can be viewed on line once you've paid for it. If not, you'll have to send away for it via the site. Scottish ones are more informative than English/Welsh ones.

A member started a thread about Irish research. Have a read through and follow the various links.

Could anybody possibly help me. Im looking into my nanas past, she has dementia and id like to fill my family tree from her side but i cannot get any answers from her or that side of the family. I have paid a years standard membership for accessing birth certificates yet i cannot find any relatives from scotland or Ireland on here. Is there a reason for this? My nana was born in 1929. I have search for my other grandparents who were from London and ive found theirs so im assuming i can not access Scottish birth certificates?
