From my experience, it is something you have to ride out.

I had a reasonably good day today as well, made a pot of lemon curd, OH was home and grated the lemon peel and squeezed the juice but I did the rest. Fred's mate dug up the sage in the front that used to be a plant but had become and acre so I have chopped quite a lot of that and put it in the freezer.

We have finally fired up the dehydrator as well and we have already had words because OH decided it had finished two hours after it was started and switched it off to cool down! He had read the book of instructions just as had I and he saw it indicate that things needed eight to thirty eight hours!

But you did it

Got some get up and go and saw It through

It is difficult following through on sudden get ups. I get all enthusiastic but lose the plot along the way

:-(

Sounds good, Sharron. I am a great one for chucking meals together from whatever's in the fridge. Well done for taking another step forward.

Quorn is good if you zoom it up a bit with spices etc. :-D. I throw in anything that takes my fancy that day. It makes a nice change from meat and of course good for my diet :-D

It is the best alternative I have found to meat.

Some of their products have not sold well because they were too authentic.

Not a big Quorn fan either, but sounds okay otherwise and you liked it that's the main thing...

It was pretty undetectable in this pie but, usually, I make sure to always put a squirt of tomato ketchup in the recipe if I use mince or steak strips and a pickles onion in pasties.

Makes a big difference.

Sounds.....okay.
I don't like Quorn.

Veggie surprise?

Sharron

Sharron Report 30 Jan 2018 18:21

Something I cobbled up from what was about, as usual. I cooked diced carrot and parsnip in some cider I had in the cupboard, browned some Quorn pieces and sweated some chopped onion. Drained the cooking liquor into a jug, put the veg and a handful of flour in with the Quorn, made it into sauce with cooking liquor. Sliced mushroom, frozen peas and sweetcorn into pie along with veg and stuff. Lid on , bake it.

Don't really know what you would call that.

The taste is the main thing, looks added bonus. What pie was it Sharron?

Sharron

Sharron Report 30 Jan 2018 17:02

Wasn't pretty but it went down quite well.

I'm sure it will be lovely Sharron, and sure he will appreciate the effort.

Not big news in the great scheme of things but I have made a pie, all on my own.

It is not pretty and I don't know how good it will taste but it is the first one I have made since I lost the plot. If somebody of my aquaintance, who has been in catering over forty years dares speak disrespectfully of my pie, he will find himself wearing it!
