I'm sitting here a little scared ..........

it's now 11 pm, OH has been out for the evening , and there've been 3 rather weird phone calls from a whispery voiced male. The first call asked for OH, then I've hung up without attempting to hear anything more on the other calls.

Just a very weird whisper, that's started to send shivers down my spine ........... and I don't scare easily!

Oh dear, poor Sylvia.
Here we have caller ID, so you should be able to find out the number and barr it. It depends on your telecom provider over there of course

did you have any more calls once OH came home Sylvia? do you have a facility for seeing who the last caller number was?

SylviaInCanada Report 4 Feb 2018 17:55

Hi

No more calls, and we had a laugh about it, so I felt much better

Caller ID is available over here, we just don't have a phone that shows it.

I have thought about changing our phone number ............ but to be honest the thought of informing everyone who needs to know makes me quake. We've had the same number since 1972!

It's strange that he asked for OH. Was it, perhaps, a misguided colleague?

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 4 Feb 2018 18:04

maggie ...........

that is the puzzling aspect of it.

I don't think he knew OH .............. OH's name begins with a cap letter that can sometimes be mis-read as another lower-case one, and this guy used both possible versions of the name

I didn't hear him make any threats or suggestions, because the voice was so low and whispery. I think it was mainly the 3 calls in sequence that bothered me

Buy a play ground whistle and keep it near the 'phone. Use it if needed!

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 5 Feb 2018 19:47

Jacqueline .............

I do have a whistle, but it happened to be in another room and I forgot all about!!

Bob .............. accident chasers don't seem to phone on spec over here. In fact we rarely hear about them.

We just have lawyers advertising frequently on TV and other media "Call us first before going to your insurance company".
