Generation question

So my question is...

If myself, my mother and my grandparents are in the same room is that 3 generations?

Does the 25 year gap hold

3 generations of the same family are in the room.

The 25 years between generations is taken from an average.
It’s possible that a 13 year old girl could give birth, and that child also become a parent at the same age.
Similarly, either naturally or with medical help, a female can give birth into her late 40s. Men can be donors of active sperm for decades afterwards!

Yes it is. It doesn't matter how old or young your parents or grandparents were when their offspring were born, together you are three generations.

Count him as #1 then back to the furthest direct line ancestor.
Don’t include the blood ancestors lines of ‘marry-ins’

*Cousin: (aka 1st Cousins) - Your first cousins are the people in your family who have two of the same grandparents as you. In other words, they are the children of your aunts & uncles.

*Second Cousin: - Your 2nd cousins are the people in your family who have the same great-grandparents as you, but not the same grandparents.

*3rd, 4th & 5th cousins - Your 3rd cousins have the same great-great-grandparents as you. Your 4th cousins have the same great-great-great -grandparents as you - and so on!

All clear now? There's more if interested!

Well there's certainly more than a 25 years gap mine just for me as I had younger siblings too as well as older

My matenal grandmother was born in 1884 my mum was born in 1909 and I was born in 1937

I had an older sibling born in 1931 and the youngest in the family in 1949. So in theory my elder sister age wise could have been the mother of the youngest as there was an 18 year gap between them

Whilst I knew both grandma s. Dads mum was born in 1881 , both grandfather s had predeceased them

Kense's request.

'Your mother's 1st cousin is your first cousin, once removed'.

'Your grandmother's 1st cousin is your 1st cousin twice removed'.

Clear as mud! :-D
