Thankyou for your suggestion Vera. As I finish work at 3pm tomorrow, I'm going to see if I can get a Drs appointment. Although the rash isn't any worse tonight, it is still there and a smaller rash on the other leg.

I think I need clarification and peace of mind.
Will let you know when I find out.

Thankyou

It can't be a heat rash can it? From a hot water bottle etc.

I had exactly these symptoms and it turned into a real tale of woe. Go and see your doctor urgently. He must take a swab from yr leg and send it for analysis.

I was involved (mangled) by being run over by a speeding car. Eventually I was allowed to join the Walking Dead. My legs anyway were not broken. After beginning to get around again with a stick my health was still pretty poor and my resistance to bugs right down.

So I got a rash on my calf which came and went. Saw the doctor who gave me something for it. Rash went away and came back several times. And then .... suddenly without much warning my leg ballooned up and the skin hurt like hell. It took the medics months to get it sorted out and at one point they seriously suggested amputation.

The cause was that due to my general health being poor some bug that commonly lives on human skin (there are lots apparently) had broken through the skin and set up house.

I got relapses for some time until I discovered that the usual amount prescribed was nowhere near enough. Instead of small amounts from a little tube I have a big tube and lay it on thick at the first sign of trouble.

The only antidote the meds have found that works is "Fucibet" aka fusidic acid / betamethasone.

Good luck

Well peeps..Its a post viral vascular rash. Dr said as I have had 2 viral infections and and an upper respiritory infection, the rash can often appear after the viruses have gone.

Its feels prickly because its burst blood vessels under the skin.

After a good discussion she also decided to take the full FBC, Us and Es etc. She said my immune sytem is probably low and also due to the"stress" I have been under, my body isnt getting a chance to recharge the batteries.

She said I needed Vit D and a break..lol I then said cheekily can i get a holiday in the sun on prescription? Sadly not she replied with a smile.

So nothing serious. Its faded but is still visible and a little on my right calf. Bloods will take a week so heres hoping nothing serious other then maybe a little iron deficient which i can rectify with a change to my diet.

We are due a break end of March for Easter so then i think, i will recover properly and build my immune system up again.

The sooner I rid my life of a certain"problem", the sooner I shall recover more quickly too!! I shall have to create the perfect spell..lol

Thanks for all your advice and suggestions

Rollo...poor you that was a terrible thing that happened to you.

Even when mine eventually fades, i will still keep an eye and if it appeared again, i would def go back for another dr to look at it.

Thanks for your information

Keep an eye on your legs Florence

I get cellulitis and it's very painful and you feel really unwell with what feels like extreme flu
It needs immediate treatment with antibiotics as it could get right into the system and shut down the organs

I find it comes on very suddenly. It's the bacteria that normally lives on the skin migrating inwards .Sound a bit like Rollo described

Not nice and you need to keep alert for it

Take care Florence

Thanks Shirley for that.

I did indeed have a fluey type virus awhile back but it wasn't the full blown flu and really did flaw me for several days.I was sick with it and a severe migraine for 2 days.

if it reappears I will go straight back to the drs.

just wait to hear on my blood teats and see if anything amiss there. Hopefully sometime end of next week.

Thanks again
