My hubby and neighbour this morning........

synchronised snow shovelling :-D

Our smashing neighbour dug our front door out yesterday but because of the drifting hubby had to clear a way from the road up 7 steps and make a pathway to our door today.

He and neighbour then cleared a parking space for his 4 wheel drive vehicle. Luckily the snow was all shovelled over the opposite side of the road where there are only trees.

None of us can get out of the rear house doors because the snow there is about 4' deep.

You want to keep your doors clear if possible and make sure any pipes for heating etc are clear.

Not melting yet and still the odd flurry.

Luckily our pipes seem to be OK, having suffered a split cold water feed pipe on the farm which meant we had to dig a whole field to find the leak once the ground had thawed :-( it's something himself watches like a hawk...

Doctors have advised people over 55 not to shovel snow as it can cause heart failure. A man in our area tried to help someone dig their cars out and he collapsed and died. He and his wife were taking their dog to kennels before going on holiday to Mexico. Such a tragic sad end.

Take care everyone

I was invited out to the theatre tonight and was worried about the path and pavement outside as roads were clear.i found the rubber spikes that I got for my mother a number of years ago and got one on and the other broke ,so I stuck it on with duct tape on the sole.It worked.

Getting to the car,a young couple were walking up the road and made sure I got into my fellow musicians car,so we got to Llandudno where there wasn’t a trace of snow.
.
We had a lovely meal in the restaurant and enjoyed Crazy for You with Tom chambers and. Claire Sweeney..it was very good. And nice to get out as hadn’t been out for a week.

I did take another pair of shoes to go into the theatre!! :-D

The trick to shovelling is take your time, and don't lift too much each time, if it's heavy wet snow slow and steady is best.

Hubby is fast approaching 70 but as he runs marathons he's pretty fit..lol

He spent a couple of hours shovelling but that included chatting with various neighbours :-D
