There are several early deaths in the family but they are not direct relatives so haven't got their death certs. but they may be mining related either due to accidents or disease.

My Great Grandfather was killed in a mining accident too, in Maesteg. Aged 38.

I don't know that Jem. Once you start finding definite links you start to be able to place people and hope they can find the link. With my gt gt grandmother we don't know whether it's her sibling the man links to so it'll be my 3rd gt grandparents that we meet at or if he links to my gt gt grandmother's 2nd family as she remarried after my gt gt grandfather died in a coal fall in the pit aged 29.

Sounds exciting .... but a little complicated when you've not done it before!

I've just had 2 close relatives come on GEDmatch and they were also linked to each other and we've placed them in the family they just have to find there links.

The first one links with the Lloyds as he links to myself and a lady in Canada who is a direct link to my gt gt grandfather's brother so he's a Lloyd but he also links to the father and son who are direct descendants of my gt grandmother's brother so he links to Grandpa Lloyd's siblings.

The other man links to the 2 of us but not to the lady in Canada so isn't a Lloyd and doesn't link to the other men so relationship has to be my gt gt grandmother. :-D

I must make a note of that Pat! Want to do it eventually. Not sure if I trust the Ancestry one!

What irritates me slightly, is that it won't tell me what proportion WELSH I am! ;-) :-D :-D

23andMe but I'm also on GEDmatch. GEDmatch is a free site were you can add your raw data info and connect with people who have had their DNA analysis done by other companies.

Went shopping Jem then came back and did some tree research as I've managed to link someone with my paternal grandfather's siblings due to DNA links so was trying to fill in spouses etc up to possible people still alive.
